dc.description.abstractThis dissertation engages in a multi-site case study, which examines privatization at three elite U.S. public research universities. The study seeks to understand the influence of state funding and context on universities privatization efforts, identifying the importance of state politics and laws, institutional leaders, and sources of external revenues as key drivers of privatization.
