This study treats the complications introduced by the digital platform in texts about nature, including the reader’s loss of control and the effect of the reader’s choice. A paradox exists due to a traditional mode of thinking, in which technology and nature are at odds with one another and cannot be reconciled. Nevertheless, the two are reconciled as the reader is reconciled with nature through the text. This study also discusses the relationship and interaction between reader and text, and how this relationship changes when the text in question is on a digital platform. The six French-language primary works include automatic text generators, hypertexts, and animated poems. The themes explored in these texts are visual imagery and use of sound, humor and irony, and ultimately the creation of a new “environment” for the reader when discussing “environment” in the ecological sense.
