dc.description.abstractMany studies have addressed the potential impact of climate change on maize production in many regions of USA, however, not for the Southeastern USA. The approaches of prior studies also had limitations and need improvement. The overall goal of this study was to determine the climate change impact on maize production in the Southeastern USA and provide adaptation strategies. The results showed that in order to adapt to the changing climate, maize in Florida should be planted earlier to avoid the higher temperature in the future. Maize in northern region of the Southeastern USA should be planted during April, May, and June. Irrigation also could offset the negative effects of water deficit and high temperature.
