    Abstract
This thesis explores the possibilities of stream channel enhancement specific to the reach of Tanyard Creek that lies within the planning boundary of the 2030 Athens Downtown Master Plan. The study assumes future progress in the implementation of stormwater control measures on the ephemeral headwaters of the Tanyard Creek watershed that may affectively improve infiltration and increase stream baseflow conditions, and thus hydrologic function. While there is certainly a need to locate and implement site-specific SCMs within the study boundary, this thesis focuses primarily on the subsequent phases of stream channel enhancement strategies that may be feasible in attempts to enhance Tanyard’s stream function and network connectivity within the Athens Downtown Plan boundary.
