The objective of the study was to determine the predictive capabilities of the Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales (RIAS; Reynolds and Kamphaus, 1998), the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Adolescent Version (MMPI-A; Butcher et al. 1992), and the age of the first crime committed in determining whether juveniles will reoffend. 110 juveniles participated in the current study after undergoing rigorous screening procedures. Each participant was court-referred for a psychological evaluation. The evaluation consisted of the administration of the RIAS, MMPI-A, and the examination of offense histories. Test of correlation and logistic regression analyses were conducted. The results suggest inconsistencies with previous research; however, the combinations of these variables appear to accurately predict recidivism. Limitations and suggests for future research are discussed.
