    Abstract
This paper presents the findings of a qualitative study which explored the process of using expressive arts counseling techniques. Specifically, the process as it was experienced by high school counselor trainees was the focus of the data collection and analysis. The researcher identified themes which were developed into a grounded theory. Developmental and crosscultural considerations were explored as well. The paper concludes with a discussion of the results and recommendations for future research.
