Georgia experienced a budget cut proposal affecting higher education in March 2010 and the media covered it extensively. In order to prepare for future situations, it is beneficial to be educated on parallel events of the past. Specifically, the research investigated if the talking points distributed by the UGA‟s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences‟ Office of Communication were used in media outlets in the state. It was found that the talking point theme “higher education” was used most frequently, which included 4-H. Social media and quantative analysis are also discussed.
