The purpose of this study was to understand the recreation and physical activity habits of persons in the collegiate community with physical disabilities and to better understand their needs and desires. Nineteen adults 18-64 years of age completed an internet questionnaire from three traditional universities in the southeastern United States. The findings indicate that people with physical disabilities are recreating and participating in physical activity and do use the university provided recreation/physical activity centers. This study investigates the types of activity in which people with disabilities participate, as well as the levels of activity (light, moderate, strenuous, etc) and the length of time in those activities. Descriptive statistics and open-ended responses allowed the researcher to gain an insight into the use of and satisfaction with recreation facilities.
