The motivation to learn online questionnaire

In what ways does motivation to learn in online classes differ from motivation to learn intraditional classes? The purpose of the present study was to answer this question. A Motivationto Learn Online Questionnaire was developed, which consists of 37 items. This questionnairewas administered to 80 college students to assess the factors that motivate them in their courses.For each statement, participants indicated their level of agreement for traditional and onlineclasses. Additionally, biographical data about the participants were collectedÑparticularly dataconcerning their experience with the Internet and their technical proficiency using it. The studyfound that there were significant differences in intrinsic goal orientation and in socialengagement in online and traditional classes.
