Examined was the test-retest reliability of a modified probe detection task (MPDT) in individuals low, medium, and high in social anxiety (SA) over a two-week period. Although data suggest that the MPDT may be a valid measure of attentional bias, data concerning its reliability are lacking. Findings indicate that individuals high in SA exhibit a reliable attentional bias to threat (i.e., angry faces) in the MPDT. Therefore, the task appears to be a reliable measure of attention for studies of anxiety disorders.
